Extraction performed with the right technique, minimising skin trauma

Overview of a manual acne extraction session at Eternal Beauty Center

Manual extraction is a supportive step within an acne treatment plan. To minimise the risk of spreading inflammation, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and scarring, it must be performed at the right time and with the right technique.

At Eternal, every extraction session begins with a consultation with our dermatologist to assess the condition of your skin, decide which lesions can be safely treated during the session and adjust your home-care routine if needed.

After extraction, the skin is treated with anti-inflammatory serum iontophoresis and LED light therapy to soothe the area, reduce redness and support recovery of the freshly treated zones.

Each session lasts approximately 60–75 minutes.

Who it is for

  • Blackheads, whiteheads and congested (closed) comedones

  • Sebaceous filaments on the nose, chin and T-zone

  • Mild inflammatory pimples that have already come to a head

  • Oily, congestion-prone skin with enlarged pores

  • Clients currently undergoing acne treatment who require regular extractions

Cases that should be treated before extraction

  • Severe inflammatory acne, nodules and active cysts that are still red and swollen

  • Skin that is irritated or peeling from active treatments

  • Skin recovering from laser, chemical peels or other invasive procedures

Recovery and home-care guidance

The skin is finished with a calming mask, recovery serum, moisturiser and sunscreen. You will receive personalised guidance on caring for your skin during the first 48–72 hours after the session.

Results and maintenance schedule

After the first session, the skin's surface feels visibly clearer and smoother. Some areas may appear slightly red within the first 12–24 hours — a common reaction after extraction that gradually settles with proper care.

For skin with extensive congestion or under active acne treatment, Eternal typically recommends an extraction session every 3–4 weeks as advised by the dermatologist. Once the skin stabilises, the interval is extended accordingly.

Manual extraction is not a replacement for acne treatment. Long-term results depend on the underlying skin condition, the treatment plan and your home-care routine.

Aftercare

  • Avoid touching the face for the first 4–6 hours

  • No makeup for the first 24 hours

  • Use sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher during the day

  • Pause retinol, AHA, BHA and other strong actives for the first 48–72 hours

  • Avoid steam rooms, intense exercise and swimming for the first 24 hours

  • Do not attempt to extract remaining lesions at home

  • Limit spicy food, sugar and dairy for the first few days

  • Contact Eternal if you notice anything unusual, such as prolonged swelling, spreading redness or worsening pain
